The Future of Food @ SXSW Day 2

On March 18, 2022, Food Tank’s Nourishing America Tour will stop in Austin, Texas, at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival for the second part of the summit themed “The Future of Food.”

Watch “The Last Harvest” @ SXSW

On March 15, 2022, Food Tank will screen “The Last Harvest,” a film which offers a rare glimpse into the critical labor shortage problem in the agricultural industry. The post-screening panel discussion will feature Soren Bjorn, President of Driscoll’s of the Americas and Food Tank President Danielle Nierenberg. 

Watch “The Ants & the Grasshopper” @ SXSW

On March 15, 2022, Food Tank will screen “The Ants & the Grasshopper” a documentary about Anita Chitaya’s journey from Malawi to California to the White House as she meets climate skeptics and despairing farmers. A post-screening panel discussion will feature Co-Director Raj Patel and Dr. Karen Magid from Huston-Tillotson University.

On March 14, 2022, Food Tank will screen “Man in the Field” a documentary that profiles pioneering artist and chef Jim Denevan, founder of Outstanding in the Field. A post-screening panel discussion will feature Director Patrick Trefz and Food Tank President Danielle Nierenberg.

On March 14, 2022, Food Tank will screen “Gather,” an intimate portrait of the growing movement amongst Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political and cultural identities through food sovereignty, while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide. A post-screening panel discussion will feature A-dae Romero-Briones and Danielle Nierenberg. 

Nourishing America Tour: Chicago, Illinois

On August 24, 2022, Food Tank’s Tour will stop in Chicago, Illinois for a summit on Technology and the Future of Our Food Systems hosted by the University of Illinois Chicago.

CEFS Symposium on Agriculture, Food Systems and Climate Change: A Call to Action

On August 11, 2022, Food Tank is partnering with North Carolina State University for a summit on Agriculture, Food Systems, and Climate Change. Danielle Nierenberg will moderate Dr. Robert Bonnie, the USDA Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation, Dr. Rattan Lal, OSU Distinguished Professor of Soil Science, and more amazing speakers. 

World Congress on Agroforestry, Quebec City

On July 17-20, 2022, Food Tank’s Nourishing America Tour will stop in Quebec City, Quebec for the Fifth World Congress on Agroforestry in partnership with University of Laval.

Food-Film Watch Parties @ SXSW

On March 14 and 15, 2022, Food Tank’s Nourishing America Tour will stop in Austin, Texas, at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival for food-focused film screenings, delicious snacks, and fireside chats. The films “Gather,” “Man in the Field,” “Last Harvest,” and “Ants and the Grasshopper” will be featured.
