New Hope and the Climate Collaborative are co-hosting the inaugural Climate Day on March 8, 2017, at the Natural Products Expo West. With a goal to share new ideas, learn proven solutions, make connections, and spread hope surrounding the issues of climate change, the event will feature a series of roundtables, sessions, speakers, and a special screening of the Kiss the Ground film following the reception.
Prominent guests include environmental leader and best-selling author Paul Hawken as Keynote Speaker; Robynn Shrader, CEO of National Co+op Grocers; Jessica Rolph, COO of Happy Family; Rose Marcario, CEO of Patagonia; Jennifer Silberman, Chief Sustainability Officer at Target; and more. The event will kick off with a Climate 101 session led by the Sustainable Food Trade Association.
“Although climate change is one of the biggest threats humankind has ever faced, it’s also one of the greatest opportunities we’ve ever had to innovate and make change,” says Lara Dickinson. “By joining forces, we can unleash a new wave of innovation that will help slow and ultimately reverse climate change while improving our quality of life and making our businesses stronger.”
The Climate Collaborative is a project of OSC2 and SFTA to catalyze bold climate action among natural products companies.
