On May 21st, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will host the Innovative Ideas to Feed the World Competition. All contestants are young professionals under 35 years old, who will be presenting their unique ideas of ways to feed the world. The contestants will have experience in development research, and will use that experience to inform their ideas on strategies and innovations to meet the challenges of global food security. The event is organized by the Young Professionals’ Forum for International Development (YouFID), the Volunteers and Interns Committee of FAO (VIFAO), the Young Professional’s Platform for Agricultural Research for Development (YPARD) and the Youth and United Nations Global Alliance (YUNGA).
While the deadline for competition entry has passed, registration for attendance only is still open until Friday, May 17th, 6:00 PM Central European Time. The event itself is going to take place at the FAO headquarters in Rome. For those who can make it, this will be an excellent opportunity to see what the best and the brightest of the world’s youth can contribute to the global conversation about food security.
