Reduce food waste and fight hunger with your holiday gifts this year by considering the gift of potatoes. Yes, potatoes, and these ones aren’t half-baked or mashed! Families all over the world grow and eat potatoes– there are over 4,500 varieties of potatoes worldwide, but preserving them can often be a challenge. Save a Spud (US$15.00) from Oxfam America Unwrapped is a gift that will help build a storage silo to harvest potatoes, lengthen shelf life, and train local farmers on preservation methods. Your gift will help communities keep potatoes fresh, reducing waste and fighting hunger. Give the gift of a better food system!
