The One Acre Fund works with small-scale farmers in Kenya, Rwanda, and Burundi to improve all aspects of farming, from farming techniques to access to the market. This often includes lots of trials in the field.
The newest trial is taking place in Southwestern Kenya. The One Acre team and farmers are cross-breeding exotic cattle with the local livestock breeds in the area. One Acre Fund is hopeful that if the trail is successful it will increase milk production. Livestock will allow farmers to sell milk and manure bolstering their profits and increasing their overall income.
Follow One Acre Fund’s blog for future updates on the trial as it progresses.
