The Betsy and Jesse Fink Foundation (BJFF) is seeking a Food Waste Fellow for a six-month position starting Spring 2015, with the possibility for a six-month extension.
The BJFF’s mission is to move communities toward a more balanced, sustainable relationship with the environment. They support and invest in innovative organizations that preserve and protect the planet’s natural resources and biological diversity as well as enhance human health.
The Foundation’s Food Waste Program was developed in 2013 to reduce, recover, and recycle food waste by directing it towards its highest and best use in order to feed more people and reduce the environmental impact of food waste.
The Food Waste Fellow will work closely in partnership with members of BJFF as well as Jesse and Betsy Fink. The Fellow will lead the Foundation’s efforts to support food waste reduction in Connecticut and will work with city, municipal, and state leaders, the private sector, nonprofit advocates, and communities.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in food systems, experience in community engagement, and rigorous analytical skills.
