This Thursday, September 8, the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) will host the annual GreenGov Symposium in Washington D.C. Organized in partnership with The George Washington University’s Sustainability Collaborative, the event will bring together leaders and changemakers from across the food system. Policymakers, academics, practitioners, and experts will participate in a wide array of panels to discuss sustainability efforts at the federal level.
This year, the conference will focus on ways to make federal operations more efficient and environmentally friendly. At the symposium, participants will examine strategies for meeting the goals set forth in the March 2015 Executive Order, “Planning for Federal Sustainability in the Next Decade.” Senior administration officials and federal sustainability stakeholders will engage in a diverse set of conversations on topics including clean energy options, food waste, water resources, and sustainable transportation. The program features keynote speakers Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and Dan Barber, Chef at Blue Hill.
