The social action firm, CV Dunia dan Gaya, responded to what it called an “urgent need for a comprehensive bridge between organic producers and organizations related to the organic sector with audiences ranging from individuals to high volume international buyers,” by creating Indonesia Organic. Indonesia Organic is a virtual hub for organic farmers and producers in Indonesia. Indonesia Organic was launched in 2010 and is guided by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements’ (IFOAM) Principles of Organic Agriculture: health, ecology, fairness, and care.
Indonesia Organic hosts descriptions of organic farm businesses producing grains, coffee, tea, sugar, oil, beans, and other crops, providing detailed explanations of the sustainable practices used on each farm. Indonesia Organic links to international and national news and events, highlighting health and wellness expositions in China, the United Arab Emirates, Uganda, and Germany. The site houses funding requests from the country’s young, organic farmer movement, in addition to offering resources for consumers to incorporate organic practices into their homes.
