The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is hosting a one-day “1,000 Days Symposium” to examine lessons learned from the Infant and Young Child Nutrition program.
As part of the program GAIN, with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has implemented 22 projects in 16 countries. The projects aim to advance child and maternal nutrition as well as promote breast feeding and empower women to make better nutritional choices.
The symposium will focus discussions on challenges faced, lessons learned, and opportunities to expand and replicate current projects.
Participants include; World Health Organization (WHO), U.N. World Food Program (WFP), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Save the Children, Department for International Development (DFID), The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN), MDG HealthAlliance, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
