Sustainable farming practices are important to me because it is the only way to feed the world in the long term.
My favorite thing about being a farmer is being in a relationship with the Earth.
My farmer idol or superhero is Kristin Kimball, because her book “The Dirty Life” inspired me to pursue my love of farming as my profession.

When I’m not farming, I like to Olympic weightlift! I’m in the gym everyday after working in the fields.
My favorite thing to grow is garlic.
My favorite thing to eat is tomatoes.
If I could change one thing about the food system, it would be to create more support for a regional foodshed
Something you don’t know about me is I like to practice handstands in my field.
If I could tell the world one thing about what being a farmer is like, it would be have hands in the soil, always, and complete trust in the Earth (my true coworkers).

I conserve water on my farm using drip irrigation.
Climate change is affecting my farm by making winter less cold and severe, which increases pest issues.
One thing I’m doing to protect the environment on my farm is farming organically!
I think we need more young people involved in farming because we will not have enough fresh food in the future. Period.
One thing I’m doing to create healthy soil on my farm is compost, compost, compost!
One thing I’m doing to prevent erosion from my farm is establishing living aisles.
I chose the agricultural life because it’s incredibly fulfilling.
Others in my family are not involved in farming or agriculture, but they are my helpers around the farm when I need it!
