Hello, my name is Jeanne White and I’ve been growing simmental cattle breeding stock on Simme Valley for 46 years.
Sustainable farming practices are important to me because I want my land to be better each year.
My favorite thing about being a farmer is watching newborns.
When I’m not farming I like to fish and hunt.
My favorite thing to eat is steak.
Something you don’t know about me is I grew up in city life – Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
If I could tell the world one thing about what being a farmer is like it would be living in God’s creation.
I am reducing post-harvest losses by feeding all hay in feeders.
One thing I’m doing to protect the environment on my farm is fence out waterways.
I think we need more young people involved in farming because they are our future.
One thing I’m doing to create healthy soil on my farm is rotational grazing.
One thing I’m doing to prevent erosion from my farm is culverts & gravel feed pads.
I chose the agricultural life because I loved the country.
