Food Tank recently had the opportunity to speak with Jessica Rosen of Forum for the Future, who was one of the speakers at the 2015 Food Tank Summit.
Jessica Rosen is a senior sustainability advisor with global sustainability nonprofit organization Forum for the Future. Jess works with the food industry to help businesses innovate for a more sustainable food system. Her partners include manufacturers, retailers, agribusiness, foundations, and NGOs. Prior to her work at Forum, Jess was an agricultural researcher with Bioversity International in Rome and with the Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security (CCAFS) program of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Jess worked with farmers, cooperatives, and government agencies in Cuba, Indonesia, and Guatemala on projects ranging from agricultural biodiversity conservation to climate risk management. She spent time farming in Guatemala and the Hudson Valley and studied agricultural development for her masters at Columbia University. Before coming ashore, Jess studied fisheries in California and Australia; she hopes that we pay more attention to the role of the ocean in a sustainable food system.
