Trestle Group Foundation recognizes the importance of entrepreneurship by connecting women who run small and medium sized enterprises with business professionals.
Through their partnership program, the non-profit organization is able to connect women who show strong business potential with business executives that have the capital necessary to drive future success for these enterprises. The foundation supports women from a dozen different countries worldwide. These women pair up with leading foundations and corporations including the Cofra Foundation, Swisscontact, PepsiCo Europe, IBM, and Microsoft in various industries. These partnerships enable women entrepreneurs to learn vital skills that are integral to sustaining and expanding their businesses in emerging economies.
Bangalore-based entrepreneur Suma Krishnaswamy, for example, was able to expand her company, Cambium Biotechnologies, a micro propagation technology company that databases hundreds of plant species tissue cultures. Krishnaswamy worked with executives in various industries in order to develop a business plan, gain legal guidance, expose her company to potential capital investors, and build skills in order to become an effective executive of Cambium. With the help of the partnership program, Krishnaswamy has been able to build a production facility, employ and train over a dozen new uneducated and rural women, and share what she has learned to others through speaking engagements.
By pairing women entrepreneurs in developing economies with leading business professionals, Trestle Group Foundation is paving the way for growth, job creation, and innovation.
