This forward by Guido Barilla, President of the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition (BCFN), is part of the most recent issue of BCFN’s magazine.
Mr. Barilla began his career with Barilla in 1982, working in the sales department at Barilla France, a subsidiary of the Barilla Group. Before returning to the company’s headquarters in Parma, Italy, Mr. Barilla also spent time working in the United States. Upon his return to Parma, he was appointed as executive of the company in 1986, where he was principally engaged in the Group’s international expansion. During the same year, he also became a member of the Board of Directors of Barilla, and was appointed Vice Chairman in 1988. Following his father’s death in October 1993, Mr. Barilla was nominated as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Since 2009, he has served as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition. He was born in Milan, Italy in 1958.
