Michelle Smolarski is a student majoring in Nutrition at California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo. In previous years, her passion for food as it relates to public health and policy has brought her to Washington D.C., where she has worked both in Congress and at JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research. She is currently a Research and Communications Intern for Food Tank, focusing on the contemporary intersections of food, nutrition, people, and politics.
