The Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition (BCFN) is hosting a webinar entitled Agriculture in Our Future: Voice of Youth, on May 23, 2017. The BCFN webinar will be held from 4:00pm to 5:00pm Central European Summer Time (CEST) and 10:00am to 11:00am Eastern Standard Time (EST). BCFN’s researchers will engage with international experts across Europe on the importance of agriculture and need for food sustainability, for future generations.
The webinar will host eminent scholars and policy experts Riccardo Valentini, Nicholas Jacobs, Michele Pedrotti, and Francesca Allievi, and Carlo Alberto Pratesi will be the moderator. The focus of the webinar will be the Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) reform of Europe, which accounts for 40 percent of the European budget, and it will also be centered on youth engagement in future agriculture.
Institutions such as BCFN and International Panel of Experts for Sustainable Food Systems (IPES-Food), in collaboration with various other organizations and panels, have identified issues evident in the existing food system and are addressing the need for more sustainable and inclusive forms of agriculture for the future through research and policy reformation.
