Sophie Churchill is one of Food Tank’s Research and Communications Interns. She is from Altoona, Iowa where she grew up on a small dairy farm. She received her BA in International Studies and Anthropology from The University of Iowa, focusing on the history of food in France. She is currently working her MsC in Sociocultural Anthropology from KU Leuven in Belgium discussing food nationalism among international students. Sophie has served as an AmeriCorps member in the past, teaching at a local school, and hopes to continue teaching in multiple aspects of her life. She is passionate about the anthropology of food and is striving to have a career that helps to advocate for food equality and a better food system through her research.
