JEDI Collaborative and New Hope Network hope to use the survey results to inform efforts to make food businesses more inclusive, equitable, and just.

Expo West 2022

Food Tank will be partnering with New Hope Network at Expo West 2022 in Anaheim, California. Food Tank’s President Danielle Nierenberg will participate in the State of Natural & Organic keynote panel. The panel will focus on how the natural & organic industry can harness innovation and technology to extend its positive impact in the world. 

Expo East 2022

Food Tank will be partnering with New Hope Network at Expo East 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since 1985, Natural Products Expo East has aimed to encourage the natural products industry to embrace organic and regenerative agriculture, engage in climate action and foster justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.

Organic Week DC: Cultivating Diversity X Organic

During this session of Organic Week DC, convened by the Organic Trade Association, Food Tank president Danielle Nierenberg will interview Chef Eric Adjepong on the importance of representation in food. The session will also feature a panel discussion on the impact of pesticides on communities of color.

A Woman’s Place: Voices from the Field

When the National Young Farmers Coalition (NYFC) surveyed more than 3,500 farmers under 40 in 2017, 60 percent of the farmer respondents were women. And in 2012, the USDA Census of Agriculture found that 14 percent of principal farm operators were women, a nearly 300 percent increase since 1978, when it began counting women as farmers.
