This week, from September 22-26, Slow Food International and the Terra Madre Foundation are hosting the Salone del Gusto in Turin, Italy. The four-day program brings together innovators and leaders from all corners of the food system for conversation, education, and exchange about food, gastronomy, and global cuisine.
On September 24, the conference focuses in on young people leading change in the food system with the Slow Food Youth Network Tank (SFYN) event. The day long program, organized by SFYN, in collaboration with Hivos, welcomes 99 young people from 33 different countries to collaborate and build creative solutions to 9 global food problems. They will talk about the need for integrating traditional knowledge into design, democratizing food communication, and bridging gaps between urban and rural communities.
Chefs, farmers, social entrepreneurs, architects, and more, will convene at Turin’s Toolbox co-working space for the social design workshop. SFYN says that, “By inviting an interdisciplinary mix of thinkers, makers, and doers from around the world we believe that we can come up with solutions.”
